About Amanda

My love affair with self-care and wellness began at the young age of 14.

After being bullied for most of my childhood, I found movement to be a positive outlet in working through my emotions. Since those early days, I have dedicated my life to exploring all aspects of healthy living. By 18, I was a certified personal trainer and over the next decade, worked in two corporate gyms training hundreds of clients. There I learned, explored and taught various methods of fitness, such as power lifting, running, TRX and Pilates.

However, the first time I walked into a boxing gym, I knew I had found a new home and a new adventure. I had been searching for a way to let out my aggression after a bad break-up and immediately became addicted to punching. Nothing felt more empowering then hitting a heavy bag! After several years of intense training and preparing, I started competing. The most memorable accomplishment of my boxing career was fighting in Madison Square Garden, winning the 2008 New York Golden Gloves Championship.

Boxing helped me tackle my insecurities, fears, and body image issues while giving me the opportunity to succeed
in a male-dominated arena. This experience helped me become a fierce, strong and confident woman in the face of challenges and adversity.

After six years, I hung up my boxing gloves, and decided to start exploring the world. It was during a trip to India where I discovered a deep curiosity and love for yoga as a science, philosophy and way of life. I then traveled to Thailand to attend my teacher training in 2010 and have since been teaching students a fundamental and alignment-based approach to the mind-body-breath connection. This transition from the boxing ring to the yoga mat has allowed me to apply the same principles of focus, dedication and commitment to the range of disciplines I both practice and teach.

Currently, my attention has expanded to the adventure of pregnancy, having completed a doula certification to combine with my prenatal fitness and yoga certifications. I am honored to play a role in the journey of pregnancy and empower women to birth babies with love, consciousness and ease!

An advocate for the fierce and joyful adventure of your life, I am a catalyst of change with a passionate purpose to raise consciousness, spread the goodness and inspire everyone to look, feel and live their best. When I am not teaching and being of service to others, you can find me in fierce Warrior 2 pose, riding my bike through the streets of New York City, gardening in my backyard or reading books on all things pregnancy, movement + nutrition.
